Description of the day
Guns will meet at a local pub to the shoot at 8.30am for tea and coffee for a pre shoot briefing (location TBC). A full English breakfast will be available which highly recommended at a cost circa £10.00. It comes with all the trimmings you’d expect and will set you up for the day!
Depending on bag count per drive – there will normally be four or so drives with a refreshment stop in the field for hot sausages, soup with bread rolls, drinks – lashings of banter between the guns, picker uppers, beaters and our infamous host for the day – Ned Farris!
Although The Earl and Countess of Wessex – Prince Edward and Sophie Rys-Jones attend Shaddoxhurst S throughout the game season each year. The shoot is very much a down to earth, casual and relaxed environment. You’re are most welcome to bring, wives/girlfriends, husbands/boyfriends, children and friends along to enjoy the day’s sport with you.

Past Events in 2019
2019 is shaping up for a major year of change. Not only are we, as a country, scheduled to exit the EU but the Club is also departing our principle shooting venue of the past 18 years, Holland & Holland, and revisiting one of our all time favourite venues, EJ Churchill at West Wycombe. We are also changing, after many request to avoid Fridays, to a Thursday slot. Costs are also down, thanks to serious negotiations by the committee with the grounds thus reversing a worrying trend of the last few years where costs seem to go up every year. I have pleasure therefore in inviting you all to participate in one or all, space permitting, of our planned shoots for 2019 as detailed below.
Thursday 11th April – Club Inter Region Competition – EJ Churchill, West Wycombe
We start the year with the most difficult challenge to reclaim the Inter Regional Champions title from our good mates north of the Watford Gap. It’s our turn to host the event so it means avoiding a long trip up t’North and hopefully enough of you to provide the winning team. 100 bird sporting at a cost of £78 to include coffee and rolls on arrival and a post shoot meal but provide your own “bullets”. Willing and able guns please contact Chris Warman email@example.com 07815.608232
Thursday 6th June –The Annual Competition – EJ Churchill, West Wycombe
The Club and Property Industry’s clay pigeon team competition to be held after a break of 20 years at the delightful and challenging grounds of EJ Churchill. Once again Secure Site UK are supporting our annual bash that will attract teams from all areas of the property world. The competition will be an 80 bird sporting shoot coupled with an 80 bird team flush together with two and one man flurries in support of the “LionHeart” charity. Once the shooting is completed we can all relax and enjoy a scrumptious hog roast and award the many trophies. The 2019 cost is down from 2018 and now stands at a very reasonable all inclusive fee of £135 for paid up members and £155 for guests. Description of Day
A very popular event, many members really look forward to our closing clay season shoot of the year. Some like to brush up on their shooting skills for the game season, others it is nice opportunity to have a crack at some great clay targets before the winter weather sets in. A relaxed day with plenty of fun and banter, finishing with a catch-up and couple of prizes back at the clubhouse over a cuppa or something stronger.
All competent shooting levels are welcome providing that they are safe shooters. This is not a day for novices.
Thursday 5th September 2019
Event: P.G.P.C./Royal Marine Commando Clay Shooting Club, Mini Inter Region Shoot

Timings: 11.30am – Registration arrival, tea, coffee, bacon & sausage rolls – organise teams. 12.30pm prompt: Commence Shoot – expect to be on your way home circa 3.15/3.30pm. Unless you wish to browse in the Ian Coley’s Gun shop afterwards!
Cost: Cost will be very much like last year. Based on 100 sporting targets over 14 stands plus first gun on stand seeing a pair: £45.00 inc VAT and catering. Please confirm your interest by prepayment to: P.G.P.C. NatWest Bank, Account Number: 874 08 333 Sort Code: 60-02-20 using the reference: RMC – and by emailing your confirmation to: Chris Warman: email@example.com Mobile: 07815608232. Closing entry date: Wednesday 28th August.
For those of you who shot this event last year at Ian Coley’s, Remember they use a “play & pay” self-serving promatic system target counter. Therefore, we have to ensure we are not wasteful with clays and record all no birds. Last year it worked well and we don’t see a problem this time. Over and above the allowance and we will pay 35p/clay. Which is equally divided between the guns and paid to Ian Coley before departing on the day.
Price does not include cartridges, you can either bring your own (plastic or fibre wad, max 28 gram) or The Royal Marines have cartridges available from Hull Sporting 100 12Ga 28gram 7 ½ or 8. Priced at £5.00 per box of 25.
Description of Day
The Mini Inter Region Shoot is proving to be one of the most popular and fun events of the year in the P.G.P.G. calendar. It is very light-hearted, with plenty of banter and is not taken too seriously. The main aim is for like-mined property professionals to mingle, while hitting the odd clay or too – with few a “Bootnecks” (A.K.A. Royal Marines) thrown in for good measure!
This year The Royal Marines are hosting the event, so it shouldn’t be one to miss out on! We’re also informed that there might be a couple of additional surprise prizes. Top gun – A free 28 week Royal Marine Training Course perhaps?? With free food, accommodation and clothing courtesy of Her Majesty’s The Royal Navy!
All shooting levels are welcome providing that they are safe and experienced shooters. This is not a day for novices.
